After listening to this classic jazz ballad, I translated my auditory impressions into a motion graphic visualization. Billie Holiday’s languid voice and the vintage atmosphere are expressed through imagery such as a slowly moving car, elongated vertical silhouettes of human figures, and wavering, ripple-like distortions.

I emphasized a vintage atmosphere by using a blue-and-orange color palette combined with paper textures. Bold flat shapes and curved forms were employed to evoke a retro mood.

By mixing illustrations with real images, I created a collage-like aesthetic. For the lyrics mentioning “moon” and “morning sun,” I incorporated actual images of the moon and the sun. Finally, at the lyric “I’ll be seeing you,” the scene transitions through a human pupil, symbolizing a gaze.
